An exit poll before Judgment Day

Judgment day was set for the day after the great election. But before  final moment would arrive, the Almighty sent a pollster to do some exit polling.
The Almighty had been plugging for citizens to appeal to their sense of right and wrong before exercising their choices. The Almighty’s penchant for recalling the past, to His chagrin, always led him to that fateful first election in paradise when there were only two voters. He had done the first exit poll of the first two voters.
With judgment day on the horizon, this time around, it was clear that the Almighty would have to send a pollster. So the following is a discussion that took place between a pollster from the Almighty and an unsuspecting voter.
Pollster: So tell me who did you vote for? Candidate Y or Candidate X?
Voter: I voted for Candidate Y
Pollster: Why?
Voter: Y is a representative of choice; of liberty; and that there is nothing that should get in the way of freedom to make the decisions without interference.
Pollster: So you know that Y will go forward with more government sponsored killing of children who just happened to be in the womb, correct?
Voter: That choice must be afforded a woman.
Pollster: Yeah, like the apple in the tree of knowledge of good and evil, correct?
Voter: Call it what you like, even though I am a dyed-in-the-wool Catholic, I think there are so many other poverty issues and needs our country faces that outweigh a question already settled by the Supreme Court.
Pollster: But what about the Supreme Supreme Court of the Heavens? Do you think they would follow your freedom logic? Do you think they would from their heavenly measure of jurisprudence prefer the choices of adults over the life and safety of an innocent soul waiting to grace the world with possibility, and potential?

"The story of Adam and Eve is really the story of an ancient vote once taken; and, it was testimony of the powerful repercussions of the simple action of the choices we make."

Voter: Hmmm. Well that is speculative and we have Candidate Y who would like to see more government support for poor and has a program to equalize income and make things equal. Candidate Y would like to be like Robin Hood and redistribute income that has unfairly been accumulating in the hands of the super-rich.
Pollster: Of course you know that Jesus once said, “the poor will be with you always.” Correct?
Voter: That is no justification for trashing the poor and allowing the rich to continue this unfairness in a free society.
Pollster: So you want to make it an unfree society by executing the innocent first as an excuse for income equalization?
Voter: You’re just trying to make me feel guilty.
Pollster: What if I told you that tomorrow the world was going to end and that you have cast your vote and there is no way for you to change it?
Voter: Yeah, the planet Neburu is going to hit us … is that what you are saying? Idiotic!
You are clearly conducting this exit poll with an implicit bias … are you some kind of hater? You think Candidate X with all the vitriol and insults represents liberty? You know, liberty, the ultimate of ultimate aspect of our lives as enshrined in our founding documents?
Pollster: Hmmm. What about an even older founding document that says “thou shalt not kill?”
Voter: Well we shouldn’t be mixing politics and religion. Remember, there is a separation of church and state.
Pollster: That’ll go over well upstairs.
Voter: What do you mean?
Pollster: My question still stands. What if I told you that tomorrow the world was going to end? I didn’t necessarily say you made the “wrong” choice. You clearly made a choice exercising the freedom that the Almighty gave you.
Voter: Look I’m tired. It’s clear you have a political agenda disguised in trying to make me feel guilty. I am going to go home with a clear conscience, say my prayers, watch a little CNN, and have a great night’s sleep.
Pollster: Thank you for your time. Pleasant dreams. Hope to see you around soon. Very soon.
The voter looked curiously at the reporter but ambled unknowingly on his way. The sun had set already and the polls had closed. The great election was cast. With a great sigh, the Almighty then knew His magnificent penchant for mercy was about to be greatly taxed. There were somber whispers of the words, "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing."
The story of Adam and Eve is really the story of an ancient vote once taken; and, it was testimony of the powerful repercussions of the simple action of the choices we make. However, you vote, vote as if tomorrow were indeed judgment day. Vote your conscience. Vote your morals. And vote for the benefit of the little souls we may never ever see have a fighting chance at the wonderful experiment of life first, then freedom.

September 11, 2001, A Tuesday, Not a Day Like Anyother

On September 11th 2001, a Tuesday, I was set to fly to Washington, D.C. for the first gathering of the inductees to the Excellence in Government Fellows. We were to meet on Wednesday, September 12th at the Willard Hotel for the initial ceremonies and series of week long events for those of us from across the nation who were to participate. I originally had my flight on the Monday before, September 10, but decided to switch my flight. If I had departed that Monday, I would have been in the middle of it all. I remember getting up early that day since the American Airlines flight was to depart from Albuquerque for Atlanta at 8 a.m. with a connecting flight to Ronald Reagan International in D.C. later that afternoon. It was still dark outside when my Red 1998 Dodge Ram Quad Cab pulled into the extended parking area. I travel light so I had two bags. Took the shuttle from extended parking and the sun still was not near its rising point. It was about 6 a.m. I got to the airport, and

Life: Pinata Parties, Catastrophes and Eucatastrophes

Before I get to my surprise, you will have to wade through this mess of thoughts, unless of course, you cheat and skip over it and go to the end. I wouldn't blame you cause that is probably what I might do. But then again, I might just wade through the cherry jello to get to the slice of banana. You truly cannot appreciate the slice of the banana unless you taste it with the jello. Life is a Pinata Party Truly living life is a giant pinata party. We bang the thing blindfolded. We sense its swing; feel the brush against our hair, and so we take a whack again. Again, we do a round-about and swing; and we can hear the rope pull the pinata zipping up and down as if it were alive and trying to escape our baton's collision. And then suddenly, with that mysterious crack like close lightening, a shower of sweet delights rain down upon our head. Pinatas are interesting because they represent our desire to conquer the "seven deadly sins:" Pride, envy, anger, sloth, g

Pro Life Saint Doesn't Have to Be Saintly to the Devil

[In Response to an Opinion Piece in the Albuquerque Journal by   JOLINE GUTIERREZ KRUEGER / JOURNAL STAFF WRITER Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 at 12:02am https://www.abqjournal.com/1320926/prolife-saint-not-saintly-to-all.html?fbclid=IwAR3Hrl8HMhaTp64k4c9RVLZ3KnC5V9YEFvn2WKDk_ch1kWrGw55XKx6B1i0 Whether Phil Leahy is a truly saintly man may indeed be a matter of opinion, but that he had the right to stand and voice his beliefs in accordance with laws, is without question. And no one had a right to do violence upon him because of a difference of opinion. A good journalist would have recognized that right; and a journalistically trained editorial writer would have defended Mr. Leahy’s right. To mimic the headline of the “Leahy is not a Saint at all” article, Southwestern Women's Options Clinic is not a clinic to all. It doesn’t heal. It destroys. Its perpetrator, Dr. Curtis Boyd is no Doctor either. He destroys late term babies that will have their futures ended by having the
